Changing the Course of Care
Patient presented with a history of chronic elbow pain and “catching.” An office visit and VSI procedure showed no osteochondral defects, no coronoid tip fracture, a healthy radiocapitellar joint, and an intact ulnar and collateral ligament. Informed by the high-definition images and intra-articular perspective, mild synovitis was diagnosed. The patient was sent home and an unnecessary diagnostic surgery was avoided.
